The dining scene of Nashik has revolved around Indian, Chinese and Punjabi food since ages. Almost all leading restaurants in the city serves similar kind of food. Breaking this status-quo, A popular restaurant chain from Pune has recently opened doors to their new restaurant “Marrakesh Nashik”. Named after capital of Morocco, Marrakesh is famous for Mediterranean, Lebanese and Mughlai cuisines. They’ve introduced a series of Lebanese and Mediterranean delicacies right from the middle east in Nashik  with a very vibrant decor and laid back seating arrangements amid college road.

You’ve myriad options of Shawarma, kebabs, curries and biryanis to choose from, But we would like you to suggest their Lebanese menu first. Shawarma, Hummus & Pita bread was our order during first visit. Hummus was freshly made with a drizzle of olive oil. Filling in Shawarma was however less and size of Shawarma was quite small.

We also had Makarana Kebab a chef’s special dish made with chicken drumsticks marinated in tandoori masala and barbecued  over charcoal. The chicken was perfectly roasted and presented with a mint chutney/dip. The second kebab we tried was Murg Kali Mirch kebab marinated in pepper flavored sauce and had a nice hint of yogurt and pepper.

For main course we had Chicken Dum Biryani, it was perfectly dum cooked with moist pieces of chicken with saffron flavored rice. And we ended our meal with chilled phirni. All in all it was a good dining experience. It was a decent dining experience through out and we hope to have similar experience in future also.

This place has started operating just few weeks ago so they are coming up with some more different preparations. All their preparations might seem you little low on spices but their menu is quite inclined towards middle eastern food  is made with very little amount of spices. Prices here are low compare to all nearby restaurants. Service is prompt and attentive. So if make sure to hit this place for your meal when you’re around college road.
