Nashik is quite religious and peace loving place as compared to other growing metro cities. As evidence to it, many old mementos can be seen in various places of Nashik. Ganga Ghaat is one these places, where we can observe them.
There are quite a few Temples, Ghaats, Kunds on the bank of river Godavari. Naroshankar’s Bell is one of those famous mementos which are observed since last 263 years. This bell is the symbol of victorious war fought by Peshwas against Portuguese of Goa. Its wet is about 1000 kg.
This bell was found broken on 1st of January as few criminal minds attempted to steal it. As usual, NMC gave complete ignorance towards it. So, trustee of Naroshankar Temple took full responsibility of it and with the help of famous artisan Mr. Prasann Tambat, this bell was completely renovated.
