Vagdardi Dam is one of the major water suppliers for Nashik District. Its water supply has been diverted to the Manmad region of the district. Though monsoon season has started, very less of it has showed up.
As the expected amount of rain is not fulfilled, Vagdardi Dam is being unable to supply appropriate amount of water. It has reached its bottom. To maintain the level of water in the dam, Government officials have decided to supply the water 1 time for 13 days.
This means Manmad region will be supplied with water for 3 times a month. It is not at all satisfactory for the people there. Health problems have also arisen due to this. 36 victims of Typhoid have been observed due to lack of water supplies. Lets hope this gets clear as soon as possible.
