JANAKI is a designer womenswear label that evokes a bold spirit, elegance and refined beauty. Their clothes are based on well thought out, intelligent design combined with impeccable cut and construction. Founded by fashion designer Janaki Dani, the label offers bespoke- made to measure garments along with a twice-yearly collection showcase.
Always keen about fashion design, Janaki has graduated from London College of Fashion. She has also assisted a upcoming fashion designer in Mumbai for a year and is well versed with the fashion industry. Bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, she teamed up with her sister Anuja and launched her own label “JANAKI” last year. Janaki is the creative director in the venture and Anuja does strategic planning, trend forecasting, brand management, along with providing a creative input. Their debut showcase of her Autumn-Winter 2014 collection ‘Serasi’ in Nashik and Vizag and were a huge success.
The preview of their Summer-Resort 2015 – ODONATA is going to be held this weekend [16h-17th MAY] in Nashik at Shravan Hall, Kusumagraj Smarak, Gangapur Road. The collections will also be showcased in Lonavala on 19th May and subsequently in Vizag, Mumabi and Pune.
ODONATA, their Summer-Resort Collection for 2015, is inspired by the powerful yet sublime beauty of dragonflies.
Iridescent eyes; translucent, latticed wings; colourful, segmented bodies and tactile surfaces… These are the elements, which they have tried to reflect in our garments. This collection brings together the delicate grace of cotton satin and the sturdiness of cotton denim. It combines exquisite glass embellishments with well-constructed silhouettes.
