Kumbhmela, the most important festival in Nashik, is due in 2015. Ramkund also plays an essential part in it as it is the holy place where people bathe for the sake of cleaning their sins.
But due to heavy amount of sins and other garbage poured in Godavari, Ramkund became dirty. Nashik Municipal Corporation was not giving any kind of attention towards it. The water in Ramkund is steady so it needs to be cleaned thoroughly.
Finally, the tender was drawn and Cleaning Contract was given to a private company. They promise to clean it twice a month. And also they are promising to take strict action against the people who are washing clothes and cars around it.
